07/2026: A new form of collaboration is currently taking shape between Vetropack Gostomel in Ukraine and Vetropack Chișinău in the Republic of Moldova: production processes are being coordinated, product portfolios are being developed jointly, and markets are being managed across both sites. What unites the two sites goes far beyond operational procedures – the focus is on shared solutions, mutual trust, and the people behind the projects.

A challenge becomes a shared journey

What began as a response to external challenges has evolved into a new working model. Today, Hostomel (Ukraine) and Chișinău (Republic of Moldova) are increasingly working as one coordinated team across two sites. Parts of the Moldovan portfolio are produced at the Ukrainian plant, while production cycles have been synchronised and logistics reorganised. Within a short timeframe, the team in Hostomel adapted Moldovan mould sets for Ukrainian production processes. At the same time, both sites are further developing the portfolio and tapping into new markets: Romania, for example, will in future be supplied from both plants.

This new collaboration is particularly evident in the day-to-day communication between the teams. Production capacities and supply chains are now planned jointly across the sites. “We align processes, develop the product range together and identify the most effective solutions for both sites,” explains Serhii Kazhan, Head of Supply Chain at Vetropack Gostomel.

For Chișinău, the new structure primarily means increased capacity: “It enables us to expand our portfolio and increase available volumes,” adds Oleg Garstea, Head of Sales at Vetropack Chișinău. At the same time, the collaboration model requires new approaches to sales and planning – for example, when balancing the requirements of local markets and export business.

Processes that grow with the partnership

The joint approach also has a noticeable impact at a strategic level: “We have revised our processes and integrated economic criteria more closely into our planning to make the best possible use of the capacities at both plants while remaining flexible enough to respond to market requirements,” says Serhii Kazhan.

At the moment, many processes are still being refined, with teams from sales, production, planning and logistics working together closely. For many employees, this close dialogue is what makes the collaboration particularly valuable. Step by step, a model is emerging that extends beyond plant boundaries and brings the two sites closer together. Hostomel and Chișinău are pooling their expertise and sharing their knowledge to develop shared, future-proof solutions.

«This approach creates flexibility and strengthens the long-term resilience of both sites.»
Serhii Kazhan, Head of Supply Chain at Vetropack Gostomel
