Our plant in Hum na Sutli, Croatia
Vetropack Straža d.d. produces, sells and distributes glass packaging in Croatia, with sales and distribution in the neighbouring countries of Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and other countries in South-Eastern Europe. Our glassworks is located in Hum na Sutli.
The glass factory in Hum na Sutli has been in existence since 1860. It was built by Michael von Poschinger, a Bavarian industrialist. The decisive factor in the choice of this site was its proximity to the mineral water spring in Rogaška Slatina – the company's first customer. Vetropack acquired a majority shareholding in the Croatian plant in 1996, followed by a comprehensive modernisation of the facility. Today, this plant still caters to growing demand from South-Eastern Europe. 960 metric tons of packaging glass can be produced here every day.
