Before production begins, many details must be prepared behind the scenes. One of these is the moulds that shape the glass. Bojan Čoh from the Mould Shop in Vetropack Straža has been taking care of exactly that for the past 19 years.

As Senior Mould Shop Operator, Bojan repairs moulds that need replacing during production due to damage or other issues. This includes repairing blank moulds, moulds, neck rings, and small parts after a production run has been completed. Each piece is carefully inspected and repaired to ensure it is fully ready for the next production cycle.

Bojan's work requires a high level of precision. Every repair must be carried out accurately and with great care, as even the slightest mistake can result in serious product defects. If a part is not properly repaired, it can cause production issues affecting both product quality and consumer safety when using glass packaging.

“I learned the demanding profession of repairing moulds from experienced colleagues”, Bojan Čoh explains. “After all, mould repair requires many years of experience and continuous learning. So today, I am happy to share my knowledge with younger colleagues.”

In his daily work, Bojan uses inspection checklists and various measuring instruments with very tight tolerances. Repairs are carried out using different machines and specialised tools, and each step requires concentration and patience. He particularly enjoys it when new products are introduced into production, as each one brings new challenges in terms of mould repair.

His story shows that quality in glass is never accidental, but the result of knowledge, experience, and careful work.
