Vetropack Straža takes an important step towards greener logistics with electric forklifts

08.07.2026: Over the past year Vetropack Straža has invested in replacing some of its gas forklifts with electric ones. The changes in internal logistics are a concrete step in implementing the company's sustainable business strategy.

During 2025, Vetropack Straža successfully modernised its internal logistics by introducing nine new electric forklifts, which have been in operation since September last year. This investment marks an important step toward improving efficiency and safety, and forms part of the Vetropack Group's long-term Strategy 2030+, which places sustainability among the company's key business priorities.

"Sustainability and carbon neutrality are in the focus of our Strategy 2030+ and these are the two main reasons why we are replacing internal gas-powered vehicles with electric ones," explains Robert Vražić, Supply Chain Manager at Vetropack Straža.

He also adds that, following last year's fleet renewal, the company further strengthened its fleet this May with the addition of six new electric forklifts, which confirms that sustainable options are the main focus for the future.

The new fleet has been deployed in the cold end, the finished goods warehouse, and packaging material warehouse, where it has replaced the existing gas-powered forklifts. Equipped with modern Li-ion batteries and advanced safety features, the new forklifts ensure reliable and efficient operations while providing greater comfort for employees.

"The benefits are evident in our day-to-day operations. In addition to significantly reducing emissions, electric forklifts offer greater reliability, fewer breakdowns, lower maintenance costs, and a significant reduction in noise, creating a much quieter working environment," Vražić emphasises.

By introducing electric forklifts, Vetropack Straža is further reducing its environmental footprint, improving energy efficiency, and creating a higher-quality working environment for its employees. Through the modernization of its fleet, the company reaffirms its commitment to responsible business practices and the continuous improvement of its production and logistics processes.
