Joint donation of companies from Hum na Sutli to Zabok General Hospital
19.12.2025: Five companies from Hum na Sutli – Vetropack Straža d.d., OMCO Croatia d.o.o., DW Reusables d.o.o., BDF Servis d.o.o. and GP Špiljak d.o.o. – have been jointly donating funds for the needs of the local community for a number of years. The donations are directed to the areas of healthcare, education, voluntary fire departments and sports associations, with the clear guiding principle that they want to give back part of the value they create to the community in which they operate.
This year's joint donation is directed to Zabok General Hospital and the Croatian Veterans Hospital, as co-financing for the purchase of a device for automated staining of cytological smears. This is valuable medical equipment that will improve the work of the Department of Pathology and contribute to greater quality and efficiency of diagnostic procedures.
During the donation handover, OMCO Croatia Director Darko Ranogajec emphasised the importance of investing in healthcare institutions: "We are happy if you find this device useful and if you will make some progress with it. We wish you to be an institution of excellence, the pride of the Croatian Zagorje region." On behalf of the hospital, the donation was received by Director Andreja Filija, and Prim. Dr. Lež introduced the work of the Department of Pathology to those present, emphasising its key role in making timely and accurate diagnoses, as well as the importance of modern equipment for quality healthcare. He also explained what kind of device it is: "The newly purchased device is an important and standard part of the equipment of today's cytology laboratories. The device is used for automated staining of cytology smears, which has previously been done manually. Using the device shortens the time for laboratory processing of materials, standardises the level of staining quality, and reduces the exposure of staff to harmful agents. In the context of radiation, the purchase of this device is a significant contribution to raising the quality of work organisation in the cytology laboratory of the Department of Pathology and Cytology."
With this donation, companies from Hum na Sutli have once again confirmed their long-standing commitment to socially responsible business and active contribution to the development of the local and wider community.
