Professional training for BS vinařské potřeby

BS vinařské potřeby, a leading Czech supplier of equipment for winemakers, winegrowers, sommeliers, orchardists and related sectors, is one of our largest domestic customers and plays a key role as a distributor of our bottles to a wide network of end customers. Their sales team is in daily contact with customers, making it essential for them to understand the properties of glass, the manufacturing process and the technical limitations of glass packaging. This expertise enables them to provide precise, well-informed recommendations.

Our longstanding collaboration with BS vinařské potřeby has always been founded on mutual trust and shared goals. To further enhance their team’s understanding of glass production and the needs of end customers, we organised a comprehensive training combined with a guided tour of our production facilities. This activity is part of our Service plus+ approach, which goes far beyond manufacturing glass packaging. It includes expert consulting, technical support, knowledge sharing, and assistance with the introduction of new products or first filling runs.

Bringing expertise and practice together

The training was designed to give participants a comprehensive understanding of both our company’s operations and the key aspects of glass packaging production. The introductory presentation outlined the structure of our Czech-Slovak business unit, the current market landscape and the role of distributors within the supply chain. This context helped participants better understand how Vetropack operates, what our priorities are and why regular, transparent collaboration is so valuable.

Next, we took a deep dive into the process of glass manufacturing itself – from the basic properties of molten glass to the main technological principles and the final stages of quality control. Participants learned about the factors influencing the final parameters of a bottle: differences in finish types, strength requirements, specifics of bottles for carbonated beverages, and the characteristics of lightweight glass. A highlight of this part was the impact-resistance demonstrations, showcasing how glass packaging is tested for durability and explain why certain customer requests may be technologically challenging.

The theoretical part concluded with a guided tour of the production facility, offering visitors a close look into the process – from the formation of the glass gobs to quality inspection and the packing of finished bottles. For many, it was their first direct encounter with glass production and significantly strengthened their ability to translate technical knowledge into meaningful explanations for end customers.

The final part of the training focused on open discussion. Participants brought up topics they encounter in the field – the most common customer requirements, current packaging trends and specific technical issues. We examined several practical challenges in detail. These included the higher demands for surface quality associated with large self-adhesive labels, the impact of neck misalignment on filling and applying BVS closures, and the challenges associated with cork stoppers in relation to internal neck profile.

Developing expertise as the foundation of shared success

This training represents another important step in our long-term collaboration with BS vinařské potřeby and reflects our Service plus+ philosophy – a commitment not only to producing high-quality glass packaging but also to delivering comprehensive support, including expert consulting, packaging analysis, on-site assistance during first filling runs and help in solving technical challenges.

We believe that the knowledge gained will lead to a better understanding of the needs of end customers, prevent misunderstandings and work even more effectively with us on future projects.
