Employee Spotlight: Michal Rančík

Michal first came to Vetropack for summer jobs during the summers of 2012 to 2014. During his time here, he was fascinated by the process of troubleshooting machinery problems. "I was amazed by how a mechanic could identify a fault and fix it. At that moment, I thought this could be the kind of work I would enjoy," Michal recalls.

He started working at Vetropack in 2015 as a mechanic. Since 2020, he is leading the team of the cold end workshop.

Michal considers the shutdown of one furnace in Kyjov to be his greatest challenge so far. It was a large-scale project involving many companies. Everything had to be meticulously planned to ensure that the work of different teams did not overlap but instead progressed smoothly. "The preparation was long and thorough. However, just two weeks before the scheduled shutdown, unexpected challenges arose regarding the availability of essential components. We had to find alternative solutions," Michal explains. In the end, everything came together, and they were ready for the new production.

During this special situation, Michal was most proud of his work: "The entire workshop team came together, collaborated with a local supplier and managed to secure, and successfully completed all the necessary work," he adds.

Michal emphasises the teamwork and underlines that young employees can bring new energy that revitalises the workplace. "Their knowledge of modern technologies and ability to learn quickly can facilitate the implementation of innovations and digital tools," the cold end workshop team leader concludes.
